Is The NY Tech Meetup Like the Apollo Theater?

Despite the often correct assumption that New York is on big circle-jerk, the New York Tech Meetup is like the Apollo theater. If your idea sucks, the audience there lets you know it.

First, well-noted. Second, I’m quite familiar - they don’t throw tomatoes, but you’ll hear some snoring every now and then! It’s not even that the ideas are bad… please, guys, ever hear of the Five O’Clock Club?

Haven’t attended a meetup since it took place in at The Cooper Union where the audience really let a presenter know that they weren’t a fan of an idea or where someone making an announcement was audibly booed.
